How Fairbanks Sheds Came To Be

At the age of 14, I helped my dad build a shed. At the time, I had no idea that one project would shape the rest of my life. I remember how much I enjoyed building it and how amazing it was to see a pile of lumber transformed into something useful. That’s when I knew I wanted to become a carpenter.

Over the next several years, my mom kept encouraging me to start my own business. I wasn’t ready just yet. Instead, I spent nearly 30 years building my skills, working as a carpenter in Fairbanks and later in Seattle. Along the way, I worked on schools, hotels, custom homes, commercial buildings, and countless other projects, gaining the experience that would eventually become the foundation of Fairbanks Sheds.

Finally, with encouragement from my girlfriend (now my wife and business partner), I decided it was time to turn that dream into reality. What started as building storage sheds has grown into so much more. Today, we’re proud to be one of Alaska’s trusted shed and greenhouse builders. As licensed Alaska General Contractors, we bring professional craftsmanship and decades of experience to every building we construct.

Josh brings nearly 30 years of carpentry experience to every project. His attention to detail, craftsmanship, and commitment to quality ensure that every shed and greenhouse is built to withstand Alaska's demanding climate. He takes pride in doing things the right way, never cutting corners, and building structures that will last for years to come.

Jonelle keeps the business running behind the scenes. She manages customer communication, project planning, scheduling, purchasing, bookkeeping, and all of the details that keep each project moving smoothly from start to finish. She also isn’t afraid to put on a tool belt and lend a hand on the job site when needed.

Together, we combine decades of construction experience with organized project management and genuine customer care. Every project is a team effort, and we’re commited to building quality structures while making the entire process as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
